Information > 3-D distances

Using the functions of the 3-D Distances pop-up menu, you can determine the distance between arbitrary points, edges and surfaces of the drawing.

Information, Direct distance 2 points

Detects the distance between two points by

  • direct distance,
  • x-difference,
  • y-difference and
  • z-difference.

 

Information, X-distance 2 points

Detects the x-distance between two 3-D points (the same for the y- and the z-distance).

Information, XYZ-distance 2 points

Detects the x-, y- and z-distances between two points in one step.

Information, Distance Point-Edge

Detects the perpendicular distance between a point and an edge.

Information, Distance Point-Plane

Detects the distance between a point and a plane.

Information, Distance 2 edges

Detects the distance between two edges. In addition, HiCAD indicates whether the edges are parallel. If the edges are not parallel, the shortest distance is displayed.

Information, Distance Edge-Plane

Detects the distance between a part edge and a plane.

Information, Distance 2 planes

Detects the distance between two parallel planes.
