Extend Part Type Selection

Let us assume you want to add the new part type Dryer to the part type selection for components.

 

 

Proceed as follows:

Step 1:

• Select (or draw) an appropriate icon and copy its file (here: DRYER.ICO ) to the \hicad\makroanl\image folder.

Step 2:

• Insert a new row for each of the new part type in the anbtlken.datand the anbtlken_anlagenbau.dat file in the HiCAD SYS directory. As part code, specify a seven-digit number which must be unique and be composed as follows:
  9nm0001, 1 <= n <= 8 und 0 <= m <= 9 (here 9120001).
• Specify an appropriate name for the mask file to be generated at a later stage (here: sml_dryer). The addition in the file would then look as follows:

• Start HELiOS. Select Admin Tools > Editors > Mask Editor.

• Open the article class sml_behaelter.xml (behaelter = vessel).
• Choose Save copy as... to save the new mask file under the name you specified (here: sml_dryer.xml).
• Now select Open.

• Then click on the Add file button in the Open mask file dialogue window and select the newly created file sml_dryer.xml. Select Article class as the object type. Change the mask as desired and add further attributes if necessary. Then save the mask again.

• Close the Mask Editor.

 

Step 3:

• In HELiOS, open the Article Class Explorer.
• Right-click Plant Engineering and choose Create new class.
• Fill in the dialogue box as follows (according to the example shown below):
• Class name: Dryer
• Mask name: sml_dryer
• Code: 9120001
• If the input field for Code does not appear, click Cancel. In the HiCAD sub-directory Resources\Masks rename the file Helios.Masks.ArticleClass.xml to Helios.Masks.ArticleClass_0.xml and copy the file Helios.Masks.ArticleClass.xml from the HiCAD sub-directory Resources\Masks\HiCAD\PlantDesign to the directory Resources\Masks. Then try again.
• After this step you can close HELiOS.

Step 4:

• Start HiCAD.
• Insert a new row for the new part type (here: Dryer) in the kompbt_list2.dat file in the HiCAD subdirectory makroanl:

Step 5:

Insert the same new row in the file kompbtri_list2.dat as well. Now you can use the new part type Dryer for your new components.
