Settings: Bills of Materials

Plant Engineering > Settings > Plant Engineering Settings > Bills of Materials

This tab enables you to specify settings for BOM (Bills of Materials) generation.

You can, for example, specify which configuration file should be respected for BOM creation. Configuration files containing settings for the creation of different parts are supplied with HiCAD :

• Entire drawing: ANLAGENBAU_SZN.RMS
• Active pipeline: ANLAGENBAU_RL.RMS
• Total length list: ANLAGENBAU_GESLEN.RMS

You can also use the Report Manager to edit a configuration or create a new one. A detailed description of the Report Manager is contained in a separate manual.

• Waste allowance
  You can specify a waste allowance for the pipe length list. Simply select the appropriate check box and specify the allowance in %.
• Total length = Multiple of delivered length
  If the total length should be a multiple of the supplies length, select the check box and specify a factor for the result.

The field under Link for accessory sets is only active if you have selected the HELiOS database as part data source (Parts from...) on the Part selection tab of the Plant Engineering Settings dialogue window. If the HiCAD catalogue is selected as part data source, the assignment of accessories to Plant Engineering parts takes place via the Accessory Manager in the Part Data Tools function group.

 

Please note :

As the data of the Plant Engineering and the accessory parts are now, irrespective of the part data source, saved as attributes on the parts in the layout plan, the specification of the BOM content (RMS- and HDB files for BOM definition) refers exclusively to HiCAD attributes. Only when creating total length lists for straight pipes, the references to the part data source are evaluated. This means that, according to the part data source, specific "BOM definition files" exist, and that the matching part data source needs to be available.
