Transition Part

3-D FFS > Via connection > Transit

Use this function to create transition pieces between two arbitrary objects (solids, surfaces or curves). These transition pieces can be connected smoothly if required. The smooth connection is realised by means of tangential transitions. The tangent length will be automatically determined by HiCAD, with a curvature course which is as discreet as possible. On the basis of this automatism you have the additional option to already model the tangent length dynamically and separately on both ends during transition piece generation.

All entries required for the execution of this function are made via the Connect curves dialogue window.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Select the boundary curves.
  2. Determine the synchronisation lines.
  3. Specify the connection constraints.
  4. Determine the treatment of base and top surface of the transition piece.
  5. Determine the method for tangent length detection for tangential and perpendicular connections.

Once you have made the required settings, start the transition piece generation with OK. The specified options and constraints will be used as default settings for subsequently generated transition pieces.

Please note:

Before generating the transition pieces you should ask yourself the following questions:
