Cone
3-D Standard > New > Solid primitive > Cone
You use this function to create circular cones and cone segments. It also allows you to generate hollow cones.
Choose the Type of insertion: Either via preview or Via points (activate checkbox).
Then, enter the required parameters.

Enter the article number and specify, by activating or deactivating the relevant checkboxes, whether:
- the part is to be inserted as main part or sub-part of the active part,
- the part is to be referenced,
- a feature is to be created for the part, and
- the part is to be BOM-relevant.
If you have chosen the insertion type "via preview" (= Via points), specify the fitting position of the cone in the
drawing. The fitting point is the centre of the base surface.
If you have chosen the insertion type Via points , define the start and end points of the axis, e.g. Absolute (0,0,0) and
(0,0,500).
Please note:
- If you enter negative values for the height or the axis lengths, they are marked off in the direction of the corresponding negative axis.
- If the top diameter is 0, a pointed cone is created, otherwise a truncated cone.
Hollow cone: (1) Height, (2) Base diameter, (3) Top diameter (4) Wall thickness, (5) Fitting point
Cone segment: (1) Height, (2) Base diameter, (3) Top diameter, (4) Start angle, (5) End angle, (6) Fitting point
