Insert Part

Drawing > Insert Part

Use this function group to insert main parts or sub-parts. The main part is located on the first level below the drawing, the sub-part below the active part.

When fitting the parts, a distinction is made between:

Fitting with fitting points (fitting point ID)

Here, a part can have up to three fitting points for which you are prompted during fitting. The part may be distorted.

Fitting without fitting points

Here, fitting with moving, rotation, similarity or affinity transformation is made available. Depending on your choice, you will need to enter up to three fitting point pairs, first on the part and then on its counterpart in the drawing.

Objects (e.g. Excel tables, pixel files or texts) from the Windows clipboard can be pasted with the key combination CTRL+V. If you paste an Excel table into the Annotation Editor, you can edit the table there if desired. If you insert the parts directly into the drawing, they will be handled like auxiliary parts.

	User Library	Allows a combining of frequently required parts and macros in libraries. The parts and macros in the libraries can then by accessed and inserted conveniently and easily via a pop-up menu.
	Insert part, via DB document master	You need the HELiOS database to be able to work with this function. You need to have saved the part to be inserted beforehand with a document master.

	2-D Import	This function inserts DXF files that have been saved with other programs or HiCAD in your drawing.
	3-D Import	This function inserts 3-D data, such as STEP, STL, IGES, ... in your drawing.

	HASCO	This function inserts HASCO standards parts into your HiCAD drawing.
	STRACK	This function inserts STRACK standard parts into the drawing.
	PartSolutions	This function inserts CADENAS parts via an installed PartSolutions software product.
	Parts4cad (Basis)	Insertion of CADENAS parts via the PartSolutions web catalogue.
	Parts4cad	Inserts parts via parts4cad, the web catalogue by CADENAS. Access to a more extensive range of parts (DIN/ISO/EN... standards and all 800 manufacturer catalogues) is provided against payment of a fee.
	bimcatalogs	Gives you access to the BIMcatalogs.net product catalogue by CADENAS. You can import 3-D BIM CAD models directly to HiCAD via Drag & Drop.
	WEB2CAD	This function inserts web2cad standard parts into your HiCAD drawing.

Please note:

When reading DXF, DWG or MI files into HiCAD 2-D, colours outside the HiCAD colour palette (System colours <40) will be distributed among unused system colours.
