Form Tolerances and Positional Tolerances

Dimensional tolerances limit the permissible deviation of an element from its geometrically ideal form. Positional tolerances are direction, location and run-out tolerances. They limit the permissible deviations of two or more elements from the ideal position in relation to one another.

The geometrical tolerances are specified in a rectangular frame - the tolerance frame. It consists of two or more compartments containing the symbol for the feature to be toleranced, the tolerance value, the letter for reference elements.

The tolerance can be oriented horizontally or vertically.

The context menu is available for moving and rotating the form and positional tolerances. Activate it by right-clicking the tolerance.

Function	Description
	Form/Pos	Reference symbols are letters or symbols assigned to a surface. The symbol is selected first, then the line on the reference side is identified and finally the position is specified for the symbol.
Pull-down menu
	Symbol, Perpendicular to line	The input mask enables you to set tolerance parameters and confirm them by clicking OK. Next, you identify a line on the reference side for the base point. You can then specify the base point and the position of the tolerance frame.
	Symbol Horizontal, Vertical	The input mask enables you to set tolerance parameters and confirm them by clicking OK. You can then specify the position of the tolerance in the drawing. (1) Reference line for start point, (2) Reference point for line, (3) Position of the tolerance frame
	With reference arrow, Quadruple-angled	The input mask enables you to set tolerance parameters and confirm them by clicking OK. Next, you specify the position of the tolerance in the drawing. (1) Reference line for start point, (2) Reference point for first line, (3) Reference line for end point, (4) Reference point for second line, (5) Inflexion point, (6) Position of the tolerance frame, (7) Inflexion point
	With reference arrow, Twice-angled	The input mask enables you to set tolerance parameters and confirm them by clicking OK. Next, you specify the position of the tolerance in the drawing. (1) Reference line for start point, (2) Reference point for first line, (3) Reference line for end point,, (4) Reference point for second line, (5) Position of the tolerance frame
	Hide Form/Positional tolerances
	Show Form/Positional tolerances
	Delete Form/Positional tolerances	The tolerance is deleted immediately after identification.

Tolerance Parameters

The geometrical tolerances are specified in a rectangular frame - the tolerance frame. It consists of between one and four compartments containing the symbol for the feature to be toleranced, the tolerance value, the letter for datums. You can select the toleranced feature quite simply in the lower part of the input mask. The selection is then displayed in the upper part
