New Table
Extras > Table > New
In order to assign a new record table to the factory standard catalogue,
- Mark the catalogue for which you want to create a new table, e.g. Parts+Processings in the Factory standards catalogue.
- Select the New table function - either on the Toolbar or via the Extras menu.
- The dialogue window
New
table ... will be displayed.
Enter the file name of the table. The table will be stored with this name and as an IPT file in the HiCAD folder KATALOGE/WERKSNORMEN .
Representation (Alias name)
Specify an alias name for the table. This name will be displayed when you access the Factory standards catalogues in HiCAD.
Depending on the catalogue to which they belong, tables can be assigned to a certain category – depending on the catalogue they belong to. This applies, for example, to bolts and screws. In this case, you can to select a category from the corresponding list box when you define a new table. Depending on the selected category, the columns will be automatically initialised accordingly.
Dependency
HiCAD tables may depend on other HiCAD tables, e.g. for geometries, threads or materials (type/material/strength class). If you want to define dependencies, proceed as follows:
- Select the list box which you want to link the table to, e.g. Thread. The Catalogue Editor shows a list of thread tables automatically.
- Select the required table and exit the selection window with OK.
- The name of the
selected table will be displayed in the entry field.
- You need to confirm
this dependency explicitly. Click on the arrow icon .
The dependency will be marked in green.
- You may now repeat steps 1 to 4 for the definition of further dependencies.
The columns designation and data types are pre-defined when creating a new table.
You may assign explanatory commentaries for each column of the table. These will be displayed when moving the mouse pointer over the column captions in the Catalogue Editor.
- After entering all neccessary data, close the window with OK.
- You can now edit the table.
Please note:
- Dependencies between tables will be considered in the Catalogue Maker.
- Dependencies will be ignored for factory standard catalogues.
- When creating new tables for HiCAD catalogues, the table can be linked to standards directly after the creation. Please read also the information in Link table to standards.
