The HELiOS Menu

Enables you to open a file in the Combined search mask of HELiOS and edit it.

The editing of a loaded document takes place in its current state, while all other users can access the document in read-only mode.

When you call this function, a version of the document that may have been loaded for viewing purposes may be replaced on the computer by the current version according to Server state.

Enables you to open a file in the Combined search mask of HELiOS in read-only mode, i.e. it cannot be edited.

After successful search, e.g. via the article master, you can also open a selected document in read-only mode via the corresponding context menu function (right-click document). Please note that all changes will be lost if you have not selected the Edit function beforehand.

Normally, documents are edited via the Open + Edit function.

A document that has been opened in read-only mode can be reserved for editing (the editing of a document takes place in its current state). The document will then be locked on the Server against editing by other users.

Saves the document and synchronizes the configured properties with the Server.

Saves the current state of the edited document to the HELiOS Vault Server. The reserving of the document will be revoked, and the document will be unlocked and can be edited by other users again.

Cancels the editing and discards the changes, i.e. they will not be saved to the Vault Server.

Opens the HELiOS mask with the attributes of the opened document. Further HELiOS functions can be accessed via the context menu (right-click).

Opens the HELiOS mask with the article attributes of the opened document.

Checks whether the currently loaded document or the active document is identical with the current Server state. If this is not the case - e.g. because the document has been saved by a different user in the meantime, or exists with a newer index, or because the master data of a linked article have changed or the article exists with a newer index - use this function to apply the current Server state to the document. The following dialogue window will be displayed:

If the local file is newer than the file on the Server, you will be asked whether you want to discard the local changes and load the older Server state into the Workspace. Since this is usually not the case, you should click No and save the local state of the document to HELiOS. Click only Yes if you are sure that you really want to do this.

Applies the current Server state to all documents in the loaded document, including all documents that are subordinated to the active document.

If the Server state of the corresponding documents is newer than the local state of the document - - e.g. because the document has been saved by a different user in the meantime, or exists with a newer index, or because the master data of a linked article have changed or the article exists with a newer index - a selection dialogue will be displayed where all documents with a newer Server state are listed:

If you do not want to locally update documents with a newer Server state, you can exclude them from updating by deactivating their checkbox. After confirming with OK, all selected documents will be replaced locally with their Server state.

If all data are already in the most recent state, a corresponding message will be displayed.

Please note:: The update behaviour can be defined in the HELiOS Options (Behaviour when opening: Update components / Query before updating).

Calls a dialogue window for the transfer of the CAD structure to the HELiOS database.

Saves the AutoCAD drawing as a document and article in HELiOS. In the process, the DWG file will be will be saved in HELiOS as a drawing with new article master and new document master. These master data will be linked to each other via the HeliosAcDrw link.

Saves the currently opened AutoCAD drawing to HELiOS by assigning it to an entry in the HELiOS database via the article search. The master data will be linked to each other via the HeliosAcDrw link.

Input

The Combined search mask of HELiOS to insert an external reference (xRef) via the AutoCAD document link. Double-click the corresponding document in the result list.

A prerequisite for this is that an AutoCAD drawing has been opened.

Updating

Use this function to update the properties of the active document on the basis of the HELiOS attributes, i.e. from HELiOS to the CAD system.

This function updates the external references according to a preset configuration.

Here you will find functions for a working in projects:

Show active project opens the detail mask of the active project (if any has been chosen).

Select project: Opens the project search mask. In the result list, choose the project in which you wish to work. It will then be preset in all masks and shown as the active project in the pull-down menu.

Choose Project-independent if you want to work without a project.

New (Project) opens the project data input mask.

Here you will find functions for a working in folders:

Show active folder opens the detail mask of the active folder (if any has been chosen).

Select folder: Opens the folder search mask. In the result list, choose the folder in which you wish to work. It will then be preset in all masks and shown as the active folder in the pull-down menu.

Choose Folder-independent if you want to work without a folder.

New (Folder) opens the folder data input mask.

In the Connection function group you can see the logged on HELiOS user and the active user group.

Clicking Switch user opens the Login dialogue window, allowing you to log into the running AutoCAD program as a different user.

Settings

Select this function to specify that the HELiOS search mask will always be displayed for the opening of files, even in the general AutoCAD menu area.

Click this button to hide or show the Workspace window in the user interface.

Use the additional option Workspace to default position to dock the window into default position with a simple mouse click.
