Use this function to define the parameters for the automatic search of constraints between elements of a composite edge. You can also select the scaling mode here.
Scaling mode |
Here you can specify the behaviour of HiCAD during the first definition of a dimensional constraint in a sketch. Do not scale only adjusts the affected elements of the sketch to the dimensional constraint, which may cause a distortion of the sketch. Always scale scales the complete sketch according to the dimensional constraint, thus preventing distortions of the sketch. If you select Query, you will always be asked which mode your prefer. Further information and an example can be found in the Auto-Scaling of Sketches topic. |
Enter constraints |
HiCAD can automatically create HCM constraints during the processing of sketches. This applies both to the sketching functions (Polyline, Rectangle, Circle, Isolated point) and the other processing methods for sketches (e.g. Fillet or Offset). This option allows you to entirely activate or deactivate the automatic generation of these constraints. This option is active by default. |
Use external references |
When the Enter constraints option is active, you can determine via this option whether constraints that would obtain an external reference are to be created. If this option has been activated, all constraints will be entered. Otherwise, constraints with external references will not be created automatically. In this context, references to the immediately superordinate part are not regarded as external references and would therefore also be created if the function has been deactivated. |
Extended settings |
Here you can expand and collapse an area with further setting options. During drawing of polylines by means of the sketching functions (Polyline, Rectangle, Circle), HCM constraints can be created automatically. The individual elements of the sketch will then be connected to each other via various dimensional and positional constraints. In the Extended settings options you can specify which types of positional and dimensional constraints are to be auto-created. A prerequisite for the using and configuring of this function is that the Enter constraints checkbox has been activated. |
Positional constraints (Sketch) |
In this area of the dialogue window you can select which positional constraints are to created automatically during future sketching actions. The Enter only if lines are connected checkbox determines whether all geometries or only connected geometries are to obtain positional constraints.
|
Dimensional constraints (Sketch) |
In this area of the dialogue window you can select which dimensional and positional constraints are to be automatically created during sketching. NO dimensioning, Dimension or Dimension, with variables. The latter option additionally creates variables assigned with values. |
