Examples

Listed below you find different examples of how the Management+BIM module can be used in practice:

• Example 1: Drawing derivation in small model drawings
  This example shows a case where the creation of assemblies, the itemization and the deriving of drawings takes place in the original model drawing.
• Example 2: Concurrent Engineering
  When dealing with large and complex drawings it often makes sense to split them into individual assemblies (construction sections) and edit them on different workstations (Concurrent Engineering). Here, too, you can benefit from the advantages offered by the Management+BIM module. This example describes the following two working methods:
• Change, itemize and derive drawings in the detail drawings
• Work in the detail drawings - Itemize and derive drawings in original model drawing
  
• Example 3: Create and manage production data
  For parts of a production drawing created with the Management+BIM module you can also automatically generate documents with production data (CAM data), manage them in HELiOS and link them accordingly. The exact procedure is explained in this chapter.
  
• Example 4: Identification of loose parts
  In production processes one often distinguishes between such parts that need to be welded in workshops, and such parts that will be sent to a construction site after their processing. Such mounted parts can be beams, profiles, plates, sheets or general parts and are called "loose parts" in HiCAD. These are parts that do not belong to a BOM-relevant assembly in which an assembly main part has been defined (Welded assembly). In this example loose parts are to be automatically recognized and designated as "mounting parts" in title blocks of drawings when creating detail drawings.
  
• Example 5: Assembly drawings and Workshop drawings
  In contrast to the previous examples, assembly drawings and workshop drawings (instead of detail drawings) are to be created in this example. Also, the functions Expand drawing, Selection via HELiOS and Revision index of a production drawing will be explained here.
