Example 1 - Placing of a pattern with start value

In the image below the part to be cloned (1) has a distance of 90 to the start of the polyline. In (2), 4 equidistant clones have been created according to the polyline length. In (3), a start value of 90 has been additionally selected.

Example 2 - Placing clones of a cylinder along a polyline - Yes (1) and No (2), without direction specification

In this example, clones of a cylinder have been created as a linear pattern. The polyline shown here is a 3-D sketch. Various settings have been used.

Example 3: Placing of a cylinder along a spiral

In this example, clones of a cylinder have been created as a linear pattern. The polyline shown here is a spiral. Various settings have been used.

Now, a winding staircase is to be created from the displayed original via a translatory and rotatory pattern.

Proceed as follows:

• Activate the part.
• Call 3-D Standard > Clone > Param... .
• Choose Translatory and rotatory pattern
• Enter the number of Clones, e.g. 12 (positive).
• Click on Select direction and identify the left edge of the original as shown below:

• Choose the option Individual distance from direction.The value 10 will be taken over automatically.
• Click on Select axis and identify the left edge of the original as shown below:

• Choose the option Individual angle and enter the value 20.

• Click on OK to start the generation.
