Find Project, Enter Project, Process Project:

Projects have the highest priority in the database structure. Sub-projects, documents and articles can be subordinated to projects.

Generally, a document or an article can be assigned to several projects. The relevant graphics file, however, exists only once.

To ensure that a specific project will be opened after starting the HELiOS Desktop you need to select a Start project - either in the start window or via HELiOS Options > General.

The Project Explorer

The Project Explorer shows you all projects you have created in the HELiOS Desktop.

Within the tree structure, the projects can be activated by a mouse-click. A + a in front of the project indicates that there are subordinate projects. Click on the plus symbol to open the project structure.

You can use Drag & Drop to rearrange projects and assign objects (documents, articles) to projects. The lists will be updated automatically.

If you double-click a project, the detail window with the master data will be displayed. If you select a project with a right-click, a context menu with processing functions will be displayed (like in Windows).

Click to collapse all expanded tree structures, and click to update the view.

If the detail window of an Article or a Project is opened via a Project, the Project context will be shown in the window caption.

Project-independent

The Project-independent folder is created automatically and will be active when starting HELiOS. It does not have its own project number, respectively project name in the database. All documents without assignment to a project specifically created by the user will be assigned to the Project-independent folder.

If no project is active during a search process, the search will be carried out project-independent, i.e. all documents will be searched, independent of the project they belong to. When deleting a project from a project specifically created by the user, only the project connection will be deleted from the database. The project can then be found in the Project-independent folder.

If you right-click on a search mask, the search will be carried out project-independent directly.

Right-click on an empty space in the project structure to call the function. You can activate the Project-independent option via the context menu.

Click the Project-independent at the top left of the Project Explorer pane to deactivate the active project, i.e. continue to work project-independently.

The general result list area offers the additional option to have not only the current Project context, but also the related sub-projects displayed.

Click to show not only all objects of a particular Project context, but also all objects that are assigned to sub-projects of the selected Project. If you deactivate this option by clicking the icon again , only objects of the current Project will be shown (depending on the result list also its sub-projects), but not their contents. If you have set Project-independent and Show contents with regard to selected product and its sub-projects, all objects will be displayed, independent of their belonging to any Project. If the sub-project setting has been deactivated (switched from to Show contents with regard to selected project) and the Project number has been set to Project-independent, only files will be searched which are not assigned to any Project.

Please note:

As the project-independent amount of data can be very large, their loading can take much time. Therefore, the result lists for articles / documents / objects will initially not be displayed when you start the HELiOS Desktop in project-independent mode. If you want the result list to be displayed, click on the large Click to load note in the centre of the window.

Activate project

In the Login mask you can set a project which will always be active when HELiOS Desktop is started. If nothing is set, the folder will always be active project-independent.

You can activate a project by

After activating, the documents assigned to the project will be shown in the document list (right).

Open the detail window of a project with a double-click on the project name in the project structure or via the Start Search (in Find Project) function.
