VRML

> Save as... > 3-D formats (Step...)

VRML (Virtual Reality Modelling Language) is a 3-D standard in the World Wide Web that has already been adopted by enterprises such as Microsoft and Netscape. Internet users can access HiCAD designs directly and display several views of the object.

HiCAD's VRML interface creates WRL files. These files can be viewed in the Internet Explorer if an appropriate plug-in, e.g. the Cosmo or Blaxxun Player, has been installed. If such a player has been installed, it will be automatically started when the WRL file is opened via the Internet Explorer.

To open the export dialogue with extended functions,

In the dialogue window, select VRML (.wrl) from the Save as type listbox.

If you activate the One file per part checkbox on the top right of the dialogue, each part of the drawing will be saved as one separate file. The name of the selected file will be supplemented by appropriate numbers at the end of the file name.

Select Export displayed parts only if you do not want to export not the entire drawing, but only the currently displayed parts.

If you choose Selection list instead of All in the Parts to be exported field, not the entire drawing, but only the parts that have previously been marked in the ICN will be exported.

In the Unit of length field you can choose between mm, cm, m, and inch.

Below Accuracy you can specify a Mode for polyhedron approximation:

Specify the path and the file name and confirm with Save. Click OK to close the export dialogue.

Please note:

Apart from these plug-ins, several others are available as freeware on the Internet. These plug-ins are not included in HiCAD packages, and are not supplied by the ISD.

In the Configuration Editor at Active Configuration (Base configuration) > Interfaces > VRML you can specify which export options are to be activated or deactivated by default upon function call
