P+ID > Connections > C.Type > Pipe connection, (Poly)line (Type 2)
With the help of the cross-hairs, a connection line can be drawn from the start point, over intermediate points, to the end point. The connection line should start on the connecting point of a symbol, whereby the valid direction of the symbol must be respected; this also applies to the end point.
If necessary, you can create a connecting point on the start or end of a connection line with this function. This is however only possible if another connecting point can be created for the associated symbol.
Specify the start point and intermediate point(s) and/or the end point.
If the message, RMB = Additional Selection appears on your screen, you can press the right mouse button to call a con-text menu containing options enabling you to set a new connecting point and change line parameter values for pipe connections.
The following functions are available:
Pipe connection line > RMB: Draw connection
Invoke this option to exit the context menu and return to connection creation.
Pipe connection line > RMB: Line parameters
This option enables you to change pre-determined line parameter settings for the current type of connection. This function is only available if HiCAD activates the context menu for the specification of a start point.
Pipe connection line > RMB: Snap option Off/On
In snap mode, when you want to identify the start or end point of a connection line, HiCAD always recognises the connecting point in the snap area that is nearest the location of the cross-hairs. Use this function to toggle snap mode on and off.
Pipe connection line > RMB: New connecting point
If necessary, you can create a start or end point for the connection line with this function. This is however only possible if an additional connecting point can be created for the associated symbol.
Let us assume that you want to create a connecting point on respective start and end points:
The initial direction of the inserted connecting point is temporary; it will be adapted when the connection line is drawn. The inserted start point is now the origin of the connection line.
If you want to create the connecting point on the end of the connection line, an intermediate point should initially be set on its position.
The direction of the connecting point is automatically adjusted to match the direction of the connection.
