Dragging is the most important function of the 3-D HCM. This refers to moving 3-D parts while taking constraints that have already been assigned into account.
The defined constraints rarely provide a complete specification of the position of the partss; rather, several degrees of freedom usually still exist and can now be visualised by means of the Dragger. You can either use the cursor interactively to move the parts along previously specified paths or call one of the automatic motion simulations. The Dragger menu of HCM 3-D is divided into the following areas:
When dragging a geometry with the mouse, the part that is active is crucial. The selected geometry and the parts below are dragged or a movement simulated for them. You can use the mouse to move a 3-D part, rotate it or move it by changing the values of distance or angle constraints.
