Bore Patterns (3-D)

Insert bore pattern

3-D Standard > Standard Processings > Bore > Bore pattern

This function enables you to insert individual bore patterns, which must be contained in the Bore patterns factory standards catalogue.

To insert a bore pattern, proceed as follows:

  1. Activate the Bore pattern function.
  2. The Settings dialogue window for bore patterns is displayed (if you have not activated the Suppress window checkbox in the settings). Specify the settings as required and confirm with OK.
  3. Define the processing plane, if required.
  4. The catalogue system for bore patterns opens. Select the catalogue you want.
  5. Choose the table you want by clicking the relevant symbol or the list entry.
  6. The right-hand window displays a list of values in which the bore is available. Choose the value you want and click OK to exit the catalogue system.
  7. In the Grid toolbar, choose the desired type or insertion - individual or multiple on a linear, polar or radial grid - and, if required, enter the desired values.

The Bore patterns catalogue contains an example created by the ISD; additional bores can be added if desired.

Define bore patterns

Bore patterns are either

The DCF and KRA files are transferred to the Bore patterns (Musterbohrungen) catalogue of the HiCAD Catalogue Editor, and will then be available as bores in HiCAD.

Proceed as follows:

2-D HCM variant (File format: .DCF)

  1. Create the 2-D part and parameterize it with the functions of the 2-D HCM.
  2. Save the HCM model to the HiCAD directory KATALOGE\WERKSNORMEN\MUSTERBOHRUNGEN.
  3. Start the Catalogue Editor by double-clicking the CATEDITOR.EXE program in the HiCAD EXE directory.
  4. Open the Bore pattern table and create a new table for the bore pattern.
  5. Create the required data records. Please note that the table must contain one column for each variable used in the HCM model.
  6. Save the table. The new bores will now be available in HiCAD.

Sketch with HCM constraints (File format: .KRA)

  1. Draw the desired sketch. Specify the settings and the remaining HCM constraints.
  2. Define the fitting point of the sketch (important for its later placing in the drawing). This must be a point with the name !.
  3. Save the sketch in the HiCAD folder KATALOGE\WERKSNORMEN\MUSTERBOHRUNGEN.
  4. Start the Catalogue Editor by double-clicking the CATEDITOR.EXE program in the HiCAD EXE directory.
  5. Open the Bore pattern table and create a new table for the bore pattern.
  6. Create the required data records. Please note that the table must contain one column for each variable used in the HCM model.
  7. Save the table. The new bores will now be available in HiCAD.
