Bores and Threads (2-D -> 3-D)

• Through hole threads
• Through holes
• Blind hole threads

These functions can only be executed if you have specified the Views in the 2-D model accordingly and a 3-D model is available.

Through hole threads

3-D Standard > New > Extruded > 2-D->3-D Conversion > Through hole thread

Use the Through hole thread function to transfer threaded 2-D holes to the 3-D model. Please note that the thread diameter must correspond to current thread standards!

1. Identify the 3-D model.
2. Select in the 2-D views the threads you want to transfer. Please make sure that you identify the thread and not the through hole.
3. Right-click to end the selection of the threads. The 3-D model will automatically be adapted.

Through holes

3-D Standard > New > Extruded > 2-D->3-D Conversion > Through holes

The Through holes function enables you to directly transfer hole contours from the 2-D views to the 3-D model, as you would do when using the Holes function. When using this function, each hole is provided with an additional crosshairs.

Blind hole threads

3-D Standard > New > Extruded > 2-D->3-D Conversion > Blind hole thread

Use the Blind hole thread function to transfer blind holes from the 2-D views to the 3-D model. Please remember that the thread diameter must correspond to current thread standards!

1. Identify the 3-D model.
2. Select in the 2-D views the contour of the blind hole.
3. Identify the start edge, the hole end and the thread end.
4. Right-click to end the contour selection. The 3-D model will automatically be adapted.
