Lock Projection (3D)
Lock projection
Use the Lock projection function to fix views in such a way that they cannot be rotated out of the screen plane any more. You can find this function in the context menus for views. To open the context menu, right-click the view frame (pink dashed line).
A number of view functions are not available for locked views, namely all functions that would rotate the view out of the screen plane, e.g.
- Standard views
- Axonometric and isometric views
- Transform in required position, etc.
In the transparent toolbar, these functions will be hidden, on the Ribbon and in the context menu these functions will be greyed out.
Please also note the following when locking views:
- Views that were derived from locked views will also be locked in the sheet area.
- For the 4 standard viewsand 6 standard views function, the locking in sheet areas can be preset via the HiCAD Configuration Editor. Select ... >System settings > Visualisation > Views , and change the value of the entry Automatic locking of new, orthogonal views in sheet areas entry to Lock. All views except for the axonometric view will then be locked.
- In the same way you can preset the locking in sheet areas for sectional and detail views, via the parameter Automatic locking of new sectional/detail views in sheet areas. Available options are: Never lock, Always lock, and Same as original view (default).
- Use the Automatic locking of new views of derived drawing settings if you want to lock views of a derived drawing.

To remove the locking of a view again, select the Unlock function.
