Edit Table

Please read the following hints carefully before editing tables.

Each record needs to have a unique ID, as this will be used in HiCAD when recalculating the feature. The ID number will be created uniquely HiCAD-wide for copies/new entries by adding the dongle number, for example. If a table contains records with identical IDs, an appropriate message will be shown. The particular records will be colour-marked and the table can neither be saved nor sorted. This can only happen if the table has not been edited correctly outside the Catalogue Editor.

When editing a record table, only those records can be deleted which have not been saved in the table. The “DELETED” status will be assigned to all others. Records which have been entered in a table and saved cannot be deleted. When deleting a record, its status will be “DELETED”. This record is still visible in the Catalogue Editor, but not in the standard part fitting of HiCAD. The status can be changed any time.

If a table contains identical records– apart from ID and status, these records will be colour-marked and the table cannot be saved, unless the records have the status "DELETED".

If several users try to gain access to a table at the same time, only the first user can edit the table. The table is write-protected for all other users.

If a table cannot be sorted clearly, because the number of sort criteria is not sufficient, the corresponding records will be colour-marked and an appropriate message will be shown. Select further sorting criteria.

If you want to edit a HiCAD record table, activate the appropriate catalogue in the left column of the Catalogue Editor. Then select the appropriate table so that the corresponding records will be displayed right in the Catalogue Editor.

A correct sorting is important for the HiCAD functions; otherwise, Standard Parts may not be inserted correctly.

In order to edit a table, you need to activate the required table first. The records of the table will then be displayed in the right window of the Catalogue Editor. You have the following editing options:
