Please note: Due to the changes of the part format in HiCAD Plant Engineering, the previously available Variant Editor, ANVAREDIT.EXE has been adjusted accordingly in HiCAD 2012. For Plant Engineering variants created with HiCAD 2012, please use exclusively this new Editor. A detailed description of the Editor can be found in the Plant Engineering Online Help. For other variants, the previous functionality of the Variant Editor is still available, but, as of HiCAD 2012, under the name VAD_EDITOR.EXE. |
We have designed the HiCAD Variant Editor to support the processing of value tables in variants (:VAD) created with HiCAD. The Variant Editor also enables you to derive new variants, with different content in the value table and name, from an existing variant. The Editor automatically processes files belonging to these variants.
You can derive a particularly wide range of variants from structured variants. In this case, you simply press a button to toggle part elements on or off, transfer variable values from one element to another and much more.
You can import records (in whole or in part) from variant value tables of other variants or text files; whereby assignments between columns in the source and the target table can be specified. It is also possible to make automatic assignments, based on the variable names creating column headings.
It is also possible to export the value table of a variant as a text file.
Program call
You can directly start the Variant Editor in HiCAD. You also can start it independently from HiCAD.
Start the application VAD_Editor.EXEin the HiCAD EXE subdirectory.
