Steel Engineering > New > Insert new standard beam
The beams here are fitted in z-direction, perpendicular to the current processing plane. If no processing plane exists, the xy-plane of the world coordinate system is used.
This option then provides the following ways of fitting the beam:
|
Fit beam via point and length |
If the Fit beam via point and length option is active and a beam length is specified in the input field, the beam is then generated as soon as the start point has been specified. The direction of the beam is determined by the sign of the beam length. If the value is positive, the beam is fitted in positive z-direction; if not, it is fitted in negative z-direction. |
|
Fit beam via two points |
If the Fit beam via 2 points option is active, HiCAD asks you to specify the start and end points in order to fit the beam The beam is fitted by specifying the start and end points. The start point defines the position of the beam, the end point its length. |
