Girder Connection - DAST-IW (3-D SE)

Use the

functions to connect two or three beams through a flexible angle connection. If required, the beams to be connected will be lengthened, shortened or notched automatically.

This function can be used for parallel flanges and vertical flanges.

Example

Girder connection acc. to DAST-IW, one-sided

This variant connects beams with a flexible angle connection. The connection is one-sided, i.e. two beams are connected. If required, the beams are automatically shortened, lengthened or mitred

  1. Identify the beam you want to connect.
  2. Identify the target beam to which the connection is to be made.
  3. The connection dialogue window is displayed.

Select the user-defined fitting or the fitting via DAST catalogue by clicking the appropriate tab at the top left of the dialogue window.

  1. The input fields contain pre-set values depending on the selected configuration, resp. the selected connection. You can modify these values if required. Please note however that the editing of the fields depends on the respective type indicator!
  2. Click OK to create the connection according to the current data.

This variant connects beams with a flexible angle connection. The connection is two-sided, i.e. two beams are connected to a third beam. If required, the beams are automatically shortened, lengthened or mitred.

  1. Identify the two beams you want to connect to the other beam.
  2. Identify the target beam to which the connections are to be made.
  3. The connection dialogue window is displayed. It is operated in the same way as the one for the DAST-IW, one-sided (305) function.

Select the user-defined fitting or the fitting via DAST catalogue by clicking the appropriate tab at the top left of the dialogue window.

  1. The input fields contain pre-set values depending on the selected configuration, resp. the selected connection. You can modify these values if required. Please note however that the editing of the fields depends on the respective type indicator!
  2. Click OK to create the connection according to the current data.
