NCX Interface

This function enables you to prepare HiCAD files for export to NC equipment. The type of machine targeted determines whether the DSTV-NC or the NCX Interface will be selected.

Please note that only itemised parts will be exported.

To export a file via the DSTV NC interface, select > Save as... > Further... > NCX. In the displayed dialogue window, you can set the maximum bore diameter (Default: 10 mm), and specify the manufacturer of the NC machine (Camprox or Camaeleon).

In the Name of NCX file fields you can specify whether you want to save it with the Order number or Drawing number + Item number, or Only with the item number as file name. The NCX interface then creates for each part an NC file with the file name extension .NCW, and for beams an additional DXF file with the beam cross-section.

These specifications will not be made if you activate the Write all parts to one file option, instead of creating one file for each itemised part.

In this case you only need to select the automatically created Name of the DXF cross-section file:

Cross-section designation + Item number
Only cross-section designation
Only item number

To execute the export function, click the required button at the bottom of the dialogue: Selected for export can be the Active part, the Active part list or All parts of the drawing.

After completion of the export, a log file (conversion log) containing information and error data concerning the data transfer will be displayed. Double-click a log entry to show further information.

Please note:

A log file, with the file name extension .LOG is created by both DSTV NC and NCX interfaces during export.
