DSTV Interfaces

Steel Engineering designs can be imported and exported via the DSTV Product Interface. You have the option of exclusively exchanging statics information, e.g. nodes and bar elements with statics programs or transferring complete constructions including sub-parts and processing.

Load DSTV file

To import a file via the DSTV interface,

1. Click the ISD Button and select Open > DSTV Product. The dialogue box for the opening of files is displayed.
2. Select the required STP file and click Open to confirm. The DSTV Interface dialogue window is displayed. It contains the following setting options:
3. Statics: Only statics data is imported.
4. Product interface: All data is imported.
5. Show conversion log: Any errors occurring during data transfer are logged to the conversion log, e.g. a listing of sections that are not recognised by the system. If the protocol should be shown after data export, select the appropriate check box. A detailed listing of any errors that may appear in the log can be called by double clicking on the appropriate entry.
6. Write log file: Details of the conversion protocol are written to a log file. If you want to create a log file (with the file extension .LOG), select the appropriate check box.

3. When you have selected all required options, select OK to exit the DSTV Interface dialogue window. The file is then loaded.

Save DSTV File

To export a file, you need to select > Save as > Further ... > DSTV Product . The standard dialogue box is opened thus enabling you to save the file.

Select a path and enter a name for the export file. The file is saved with the file extension .STP. Click the Save button. The DSTV Interface dialogue window is displayed.

After selecting all required options, select OK to exit the DSTV Interface window.
