IGES

IGES - an acronym for "Initial Graphics Exchange Specification" - is an interface developed for the United States National Bureau of Standards to enable the transfer of geometric data between diverse CAD/CAM systems primarily in the area of mechanical design.

IGES files can be read by HiCAD, processed and released for data exchange.

Load IGES files

  1. To import an IGES file, click the ISD Button and select Open .
  2. Select the 2-D Iges .function.
  3. Choose the .IGS file format, then select the required file.

Save IGES files

To export an IGES file, proceed as follows:

  1. Click the ISD Button and select select Save as... .
  2. Activate the 2-D Iges function.
  3. Enter the maximum coordinate. Set 1 if you want the maximum coordinate to be set automatically or 0 to take it over.
  4. Enter a file name.
