Title Block and Drawing Frame

  1. Insert Drawing Frame
  2. Change Title Block

Insert Drawing Frame

This function enables you to take over database information (document master and part master) into the title block of the drawing frame. Activate the Drawing tab, select Insert Part > Insert drawing frame, then select theComplete title block option in order to take over attributes such as Designation, Document number and Scale from the document master of the drawing. If you want to insert them in the title block (e.g. article number, part designation and weight), select the With part master attributes option.

Then select a drawing frame format and place the drawing frame in the drawing area. Part master data and Document master data will automatically be taken over into the title block if you have activated both functions.

If a document has been assigned to the active project, the data of the active project will be transferred to the title block when plotting.

Please note:

Change Title Block

In order to change the title block, you need to insert the SCHRIFE.FIG 2-D part into a drawing and process it accordingly. Open a new, empty drawing file and import the SCHRIFE.FIG file with the Main Part function from the Insert menu.

A title block consists of fixed and variable entries:

The letterings displayed in the title block, e.g. scale, date and name are repeated in every title block and are therefore called fixed entries. The fixed entries can be changed individually for each drawing with the 2-D text editing functions of HiCAD.

Variable entries vary for every drawing. If you work without HELiOS, you can specify these entries directly when inserting the drawing frame. When using HELiOS, the entries correspond to the master data of documents, parts and projects. Therefore, they are not visible in the SCHRIFE.FIG part.

In order to achieve an assignment between title block and the HELiOS master data, a default text is added to the title block. The default texts are not displayed in the SCHRIFE.FIG part. You can, however, display the position of the texts.

Activate the Information tab and select the Text insertion points function.

Where a small triangle can be seen there is text. In order to edit the text, activate the text by double-clicking the triangle. Right-click a text, respectively triangle, and the context menu with the text editing function will be shown. Then select the Change text function. The text in the input window will be displayed.

The default text for the assignment of the entries in the title block has the following form (example): @*@30,D.HEL_DOKUNUMMER@*@

@*@ is an internal control character for invisible text. The text length can be found behind the character. In this example there are 30 characters. The attribute of the mask will be shown in the Mask Editor.

Use the New text function to define additional defaults. The text parameters specify the layout of the default text.

Save with the Save part function from the context menu of a part. Save the original file locally on your PC.

The data from the database mask will be displayed at the exact text position and with the text parameters which have been used for the entry of the default text.
