Transfer Part Structure to HELiOS Product Structure (HICADPDM)

HELiOS PDM > HELiOS PDM functions for active part > Prod...

In the HELiOS PDM functions for active part function group you can find the Prod... icon, enabling the transfer of single levels of the product structure. Clicking below the icon opens a pull-down menu with further product structure transfer options.

By transferring the HiCAD part structure to the HELiOS product structure, you ensure that the "hierarchy" of the HiCAD drawing can also displayed correspondingly in HELiOS.

You can transfer (also via context menu) either one level of the part structure or the entire part structure recursively, with all sub-part levels. If you select the latter option, the active part including its sub-parts (provided that they have a part master) will be transferred. In this case the whole structure will appear in the Where-used list.

It is a precondition that you created part master data for all parts and that there is a superior top part with part master!

Proceed as follows (one level):

Mark the superior part in the structure which you want to transfer. The CAD ->Product structure window will be displayed. The part structure from HiCAD (left-hand window) and the product structure in HELiOS (right-hand window) will be compared. In the part structure you will see the selected part with its sub-parts.
You can now transfer the first sub-part level. The green markers of the parts in the left window indicate that these parts do not exist in the product structure.
Click the CAD->HELiOS button to transfer the part structure. The part structure is now listed in the HELiOS window.
When you exit the window with End, a confirmation message will appear: All modifications saved.
If you select the Repeat comparison function, the green markers will disappear in the CAD window. You can initiate a comparison of the HiCAD part structure and the HELiOS product structure at any time.

Please note that only one level of the part structure will be transferred. Proceed in exactly the same way to transfer the second level to the product structure. Mark the lower/higher sub-part and call the function. If there are differences between the two structures, the entries will be colour-marked as follows:

green: A new part has been added to CAD.
blue: The part position has been changed in the CAD system.
red: The part has originally been transferred from the CAD system, but does no longer exist.

In order to edit the HELiOS product structure, activate the Editor tab on the right-hand side of the window. Right-click in the Editor pane on the right-hand side to call the editing functions. It can be used to copy parts, to insert them a second time in the structure or to delete them.

The editing functions enable you to add parts from the database or new parts:

New item (Find part): Insert parts via part search (PART FIND) from the database.
New item (Specify part): Enter parts via the part data specification (PART ENTER) mask.
Use New item (Text line) to enter a "dummy" item without a part.
Use Remove CAD link to remove the link to HiCAD.

In order to change the configuration of the editor, activate the header of the table with a right-click. Columns can now be deleted, changed or added. The contents of the columns can be determined via Configuration > Change. Double-click to edit the attribute characteristics.

After completing the configuration, the changes need to be taken over with Configuration > Save in the Editor context menu (RMB).

Please note:

In some cases, the query int bei Aufruf der Funktion zunächst die Abfrage New, unambiguous IDs needed to be generated for product structure transfer. AutoSave changed parts? will be displayed when you call the function. Select Yes to prevent a possible loss of data. Select No, if you do not want to save the newly assigned IDs. Activate the Hide this dialogue checkbox if you do not want this query to appear with each call of this function. Further changes to the settings can be applied via the ISD Configuration Editor (ISDConfigEditor.exe). Select Hicad > ACTIVE CONFIGURATION (basE CONFIGURATION) > Common > HiCAD_HELiOS_Interface >Produktstruktur (0=No, 1=Yes, 2=Ask user).
Product structure transfer with ... all sub-part levels takes place automatically, no dialogue window will be displayed for this.
In the Prod... pull-down menu you will also find the functions ... to ERP (which is also available via the context menu) and Update sub-part index.
