Exchange icon in the Insert Part function group of the Drawing tab, the exchanging will be performed via the Explorer. Drawing > Insert Part
The exchanging of parts can also be performed via the database.
If you click the Exchange icon in the Insert Part function group of the Drawing tab, the exchanging will be performed via the Explorer.
Clicking 
below the icon opens a pull down menu with the following functions
Exchange 3-D part, via DB document master 
Exchange 3-D part, via DB part master will be displayed. Use these functions to perform the exchanging via the database, in the same way as for insertion of a main part via the database.
