Free Linear Dimensions
2-D Dimensioning + Text
With the following functions you apply dimensionings parallel to a line. You can use the following identification types to select this line:

Parallel to 2 dimensioning points: Use 2 points to identify the line
to dimension. The points are also simultaneously the termination of the
line and where the projection lines begin. The projection lines form a
right angle to an imaginary line through these 2 points. The dimension
line is parallel to the points. Specify a 3rd point for the position of
the dimension figure. -
Parallel to line: Identify the line to dimension.
The projection lines form a right angle to the line. The dimension line
is parallel to the line. Specify a first point for the position of the
dimension figure. -
With reference line: Dimension parallel to a reference
line. The two points that you identify after the reference line specify
the length of the line segment to dimension. Then select a point for the
position of the dimension figure. -
2 reference points: Use two points to select a reference
line for the position of the dimension line. The next two points specify
the length of the line segment to dimension. Starting from them, the projection
lines are drawn at a right angle to the reference line, which you identified
by means of the first two points. Then select a point for the dimension
line. -
Variable: The identified element determines the type of dimensioning.
The identification of - points creates a linear dimension
- lines creates an angular dimension
- circles or arcs creates a circle dimension.

2 points direct: Identify 2 points between which the
dimensions are then placed without projection lines.

Running dimensions are chain dimensions with the same reference point. The dimension figures refer to this point. |

This function generates the dimensioning of symmetrical parts as individual dimensions in half-section, i.e. with a hidden projection line and shortened dimension line. This function generates the diameter dimensioning of symmetrical parts as individual dimensions in half-section, i.e. with a hidden projection line and shortened dimension line. You can find this function at 2-D Dimensioning + Text > Direct. The diameter dimensions are defined by identifying the symmetry line, the dimension end and the position of the dimension figure. |
