Use the QuickAccess Toolbar to directly access frequently used functions without having to switch any tabs.

By default, the toolbar features the normal file management functions. These are the following functions:

	New Creates a new drawing file.		CTRL+N
	Open Opens a drawing file.		CTRL+O
	Save Saves the current file with the current name.		CTRL+S
	Save as Saves the current file, but with a different name, or in a different file format.
	Close Closes the current drawing file.
	Print Prints or plots the current drawing file - completely or only a detail.		CTRL+P
	Undo Revokes the last action.		CTRL+Z
	Redo Restores the previously revoked state.		CTRL+SHIFT+Z

Customizing the QuickAccess Toolbar

You use the UserInterfaceEditor.exe tool for a customization of the QuickAccess Toolbar. This tool can be directly started from HiCAD, by clicking the symbol to the right of the QuickAccess Toolbar. A menu with the following options opens:

Activate this function if you want to add further functions to the QuickAccess Toolbar, or remove any functions from it. This will start the UserInterfaceEditor.exe tool.
Show QuickAccess Toolbar below the Ribbon
By default, the QuickAccess Toolbar will be displayed above the Ribbon. If you do not want this, activate this function.
Minimize the Ribbon
If you want to hide (minimize) the Ribbon, activate this function.

Add/remove functions

Select Customize QuickAccess Toolbar to add further functions to the QuickAccess Toolbar. The Customize dialogue window will be displayed.

The search field

HiCAD offers a very extensive range of functions. If you are looking for a specific function but no longer know exactly on which ribbon the function can be found, the search field can help. If you enter a search term here, HiCAD lists all functions whose name contains the specified search term. The search is carried out in all ribbon bars and in the transparent toolbar.

The area selection

Here you select the area from which you want to transfer functions to the quick access toolbar. This can be a ribbon bar or the transparent toolbar. If you have entered a search term in the search field, only the functions in the area whose name contains the specified term will be displayed.

Selection of the toolbar to be customised

In the selection box on the right, select the toolbar to be customised. This can be the toolbar for quick access or the transparent toolbar.

Functions of the toolbar
	Expand all Expands the complete structure of the Ribbon/the QuickAccess Toolbar.
	Expand 1 level Shows only the 1st level of the Ribbon/the QuickAccess Toolbar.
	Collapse all Collapses the complete structure of the Ribbon/the QuickAccess toolbar.
	Create user-defined Ribbon tab Use this function to create a customized toolbar.
	Add separator Adds a vertical separator, which is initially placed as a string at the end of the Ribbon tab. Use the button to move the separator.
	Reset Restores the default layout of the QuickAccess Toolbar defined by the ISD.
	Import Imports a QTC file, replacing the current layout of the QuickAccess toolbar. In this way it can be achieved that the QuickAccess Toolbars are identical on all HiCAD workstations. When you import QuickAccess Toolbars, all current settings will be lost! It is therefore recommended to make a backup of your current customisations with the Export function before performing the import!
	Export You can export the current customisations of the QuickAccess Toolbar to a file which can then be imported to other computers and utilized by others (e.g. colleagues). Click the Export button, select the storage location and enter the name of the export file. The file name extension is .QTC.
	Add >> Adds the marked function of a HiCAD Ribbon tab to the QuickAccess Toolbar. Please note: If the selected entry already exists in the user-specific Ribbon tab while the Allow duplicate entries/commands checkbox is deactivated, the Add >> function will be locked!
	<< Remove Removes the functions from the QuickAccess Toolbar.
	Move down / up Changes the sequence of functions on the QuickAccess Toolbar.

Proceed as follows:

Use the listbox at the top left of the window beneath Select area to select the Ribbon tab the functions of which you want to copy to your Ribbon tab. The functions of the selected Ribbon tab will then be diplayed beneath the listbox. You can also add functions of the transparent toolbar to your Ribbon tab if desired. To do this, select Transparent toolbar beneath Select area.
Select the command you want to add on the left hand side, and click the button to add the command on the right hand side.
Repeat Step 2 for further commands.
Click OK to close the dialogue window and save the QuickAccess Toolbar.

Please note that confirming with OK is only possible if the symbol is not displayed. This symbol indicates incorrect inputs, e.g. the input of a reserved shortcut.

You can also add commands to the QuickAccess Toolbar directly via the commands shown on the Ribbon.

On the Ribbon, activate the tab containing the commands that you want to add to the QuickAccess Toolbar.
Right-click the desired command and select Add to QuickAccess Toolbar.

Please note:

If double entries on the QuickAccess Toolbar should also be possible, activate the Allow duplicate entries/commands checkbox.
Use the checkbox at the bottom left of the dialogue window to specify whether the QuickAccess Toolbar will be shown above or below the Ribbon.
A corresponding keyboard shortcut can be assigned to each command of the Ribbon, enabling you to activate the functions via the keyboard if desired.

If you click the symbol or the Cancel button in the dialogue window when the last changes have not been saved yet, the following message appears:

Click Yes to save the changes, or No to discard them. Clicking Cancel closes the message, and the Customize window will remain open.
