HCM

The functions of the HiCAD Constraint Manager (HCM) are available in HiCAD for the parametric editing of part drawings.

With the HCM, individual parts are combined into complex assemblies (assembly modelling) by assigning constraints - dimensional relationships, logical relationships or restrictions - and automatically refitted when dimensions are changed.

Constraints are either automatically recognised by HiCAD (AutoConstraints) or explicitly specified. With this technique, three-dimensional movement analyses can be realised, even with collision checks. Spatial movements can be controlled individually and are visualised in real time.

The HCM can be divided into three different functional areas:

• 2-D Part Constraint Manager (HCM 2-D)
• 3-D Part Constraint Manager (HCM 3-D)
• 3-D C-Edge Constraint Manager
