Feature Technology
No matter which HiCAD solution you choose – Feature Technology is always an integral part of the 3-D functionality. The Feature Technology logs the design process, so that each step can be subsequently changed at any time via the integrated feature browser. The advantage: unnecessary recalculations and thus inevitably longer response times are avoided.

What are “features”?
In HiCAD, the so called “features” represent the parameters of a particular processing on a part, or a working step applied to a part.. If Feature Technology is activated, all design steps will be recorded in a so called “feature log”. One great advantage of this method is that design steps can be adjusted later if required, without having to repeat them. Another advantage is that variables and/or constraints can be linked to features. In 3-D the feature log is activated by default. In 2-D the feature log is not available.
Features are part oriented: Whenever you create a part, an associated feature log will be created. If you then adjust or modify the part, the log will (if it is active) will be adjusted automatically.
Features play an important role in the automation with HiCAD. If a 3-D model with or without variables required adjustment, this can be conveniently done by changing the parameters in the feature log.
