Derive Drawings: Functions
Drawing Management > Workshop
Use the functions of the (right) Drawing menu of the Drawing Management tab to automatically generate and update workshop and detail drawings.
The functions of this menu largely correspond to the same-named functions on the Drawing tab of the HiCAD Ribbon, they do however offer the following additional enhancements and advantages:
- A HELiOS document item will automatically be created for automatically generated HiCAD production drawings.
- It will be checked automatically whether parts without production drawings exist, and whether there are old drawings. The part list will be passed, for the new creation and updating of linked production drawings, to the corresponding HiCAD functions.
- Automatically created, external drawings will be updated automatically.
The following options are available:

The model drawing must be entirely itemized to be able to automatically derive drawings from it. If this is not the case, the following message will be displayed:
Click Yes to itemize and save the model drawing, and perform the drawing derivation immediately afterwards. Click No or Cancel to stop the drawing derivation.

Tip:
Please also note the functions at Drawing > Itemisation/Detailing > Attr... that enable you to apply various adjustments for drawing derivation, the assigning of article and document attributes etc.
This applies in particular to the Templates, Attribute assignment 
function that allows you to define the templates for attribute assignment of the Drawing Management and for DSTV-NC export.
