Drawing > Save/Print

This group provides functions for closing, saving and printing of drawings and the option to send drawing via E-mail .

Functions

Saves the current drawing with the current file name.

Saves a copy of the current drawing with a different, new name.

Clicking opens a pull-down menu with further Save functions, e.g. for the saving with HELiOS (PDM), or the export to other file formats.

Close drawing

Closes the current drawing without ending HiCAD. If the drawing contains any unsaved changes, HiCAD prompts you to save the file.

Clicking opens a pull-down menu with the following function:

Close all drawings

Closes all open drawings without ending HiCAD. If a drawing contains any unsaved changes, HiCAD prompts you to save the file.

Print active model/sheet area

Prints or plots the current drawing - either completely or only a detail of it.

Clicking opens a pull-down menu with the following functions:

Print selected model/sheet areas from the active drawing

Use this function to print several model and sheet areas of a drawing in one step. In addition, you can output the files as Postscript files, auto-convert them into PDF files with the help of an appropriate converter, e.g. Ghostscript, or combine them in one PDF document. A conversion to XPS files is also possible.

Print all model/sheet areas from the selected drawing

Use this function to directly print several drawings (i.e. without having to open them beforehand) in one step without the HELiOS Plot Manager. All model/sheet areas of the selected drawing will be printed.

Send print job to HELiOS Spooler

If you are working with the (optionally available) HELiOS Plot Manager , you can use this function to redirect plot files from HiCAD to the Plot Manager.

Please note:

When you save a drawing, a miniature view will be automatically created and integrated into the SZA file. This miniature view is also available in the Windows Explorer.
You can also use the appropriate function of the QuickAccess toolbar to save drawings.
