Processing of Models with Gamma Ray: Some Useful Tips
If you want to use the rendering program Gamma Ray to process your models further, you should take the following information into account:
- When using the lamps provided by the Lighting toolbar , the luminous intensity of all lamps and spotlights should together not be more than 1. 0.5 is frequently sufficient!
- Create reflecting side and rear walls and also roof and floor panel (as a very thin cuboid). This provides a high number of reflections.
- Assign sub-parts to a 3-D main part. This enables differently coloured or differently patterned surfaces to be created (different veneers, colour layers and so on).
- You use the Colour Editor to define properties such as glossiness and transparency.
- The GammaRay tool enables you to create files in the TIF, .TGA, .BMP and .JPEG format as well as videos.
- Please also note the Surface approximation function that you access via Drawing > Properties > Attr.
. Use this function to determine the number of polygon points for 3-D quadrants. This setting is, for instance, used for polyhedron approximations and the shading of 3-D models. The higher the value, the more precise will be the shading. However, please remember that the file size will also increase!
