Catalogue Editor
Depending on the configuration of the purchased HiCAD product, various Standard Part catalogues are available to the user. These are located in the KATALOGE folder, which is a sub-folder of the HiCAD program folder. This folder contains all standard parts, sheets+plates, beams+profiles, standard processings etc. The folder is in turn subdivided into several sub-folders containing various part categories, e.g. FASTENERS (bolts+screws, nuts etc.) or SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCTS (beams+profiles, plates, gratings etc.). Possibly you will only require some of these standard parts, and it may also happen that standard parts with particular dimensions are not available. The HiCAD Catalogue Editor provides the perfect tool for such use cases.
The HiCAD Catalogue Editor is an external program enabling you to edit the standard part and beam/profile catalogues supplied with HiCAD, as well as user-defined catalogues.
You have the following options to start the Catalogue Editor:
- Double-click the CATEDITOR.EXE file in the HICAD EXE directory.
- On the Windows task bar, select All programs > ISD Software und Systeme > Administration >
.
- Click the
symbol on the Desktop.
- In HiCAD, select Settings
> CATEditor.
Please note: You require administrator rights on your computer to be able to work with the Catalogue Editor.
Performance Overview
- Editing/expanding the HiCAD standard part, beam and profile catalogues
For example, you have the possibility here to define sub-types as main parts and sub-parts, to completely lock standard parts against use in HiCAD, to insert further standard parts or to change the data of existing standard parts.
- Definition and management of graphical factory standard catalogues
2-D parts, 3-D parts, assemblies, prototype profiles, variants, materials and macros can be saved directly from the HiCAD drawing in individual catalogues. These user-specific catalogues can be created, managed and edited with the Catalogue Editor. The objects managed in these catalogues can then be accessed in HiCAD - as with the installation of standard parts, beams and profiles - via a photo-like selection system.
Tables and catalogues can be exchanged and synchronized with those of other users by means of corresponding import/export functions.
The Catalogue Editor offers the possibility to assign master data of the PDM system HELiOS to entries of a standard parts, beam and profile catalogue.
When inserting standard parts and semi-finished products (steel engineering beams, profiles, plates) from the catalogues into HiCAD, then various part attributes are directly assigned with the values from the catalogue entry. This assignment is freely configurable.
Please note:
Some functions of the Catalogue Editor apply only to the Factory standards catalogue. These functions are marked appropriately in the overviews of Table Functions and Catalogue Functions.
Which catalogues will be available depends on your software licenses.
