Group Master Data
EDBSETUP.EXE > User > Groups > Master data
New groups are defined by the entry of Master Data. This information can be changed or deleted subsequently. A user group is made up of several users. Each user may belong to several groups.
- Select User > Groups > Master data.
- Select Add to enter a new group.
- Enter a new group name, e.g. Administrator, in the input mask and save the name with OK.
Select Edit to overwrite a group name or Delete to remove it from the database.
You can now assign users to the new group.
- Select the new group via Group.
- Click Edit in the Group Members field. The Group membership window will be displayed.
- Select the users you want to assign to this group. Use the arrow keys to add or delete users.
- The Status specifies the rights of the individual group member, independent of the group rights.
- Chief executive: Create, Change, View, Delete
- Executive: Create, Change, View
- Observer: View
- Take over the status of a marked user with Save.
- Confirm all settings with OK.
After saving you will return to the start mask. Here you can grant access authorisations to the new group, e.g. Administrator; these rights are the so-called Group Functions. They determine whether an object can be viewed, created, changed and deleted.
The object name is placed in front of the function. Objects are either predefined or customised workflows that determine the process chain for an object type, e.g. HiCAD 3-D drawings.
Initially, rights are valid for all group members. These permissions can however be appropriately adapted when users are specified.
- Activate the Edit function in the Group Functions field. The Group functions window enabling the assignment of rights for a group will be displayed.
- Specify the rights for the group. Use the arrow key to add or delete selected rights.
- Save the rights granted with OK.
