Delete symbol, In rectangle |
This function deletes all symbols contained in a given rectangular box. HiCAD immediately deletes symbols without asking for conformation. |
When deleting symbols, please also note the Automatic actions and the AutoConnection procedure.
Automatic actions
When you delete some types of symbols, automatic procedures that can be influenced by pre-defined settings may be involved:
- General type
If drive or gauge symbols are assigned, the entry for Device, superior in their data masks is deleted. - Pipeline
The symbol can only be deleted if no other symbols of the category Pipe part are assigned. - Pipe part
If drive or gauge symbols are assigned to the symbol, entries for Pipeline No. and Internal consecutive No. are deleted from the data mask. If no other pipe part symbols are assigned to the superior pipeline symbol, HiCAD asks if you want to delete the pipeline symbol as well. - Discontinuation symbol
If a matching symbol exists, i.e. an assigned symbol with the same code, the entry for Reference is deleted from the data mask.
AutoConnection
When a symbol is removed from its old position, connections existing via the symbols are deleted and, if possible, then restored. This is however only possible with connections of the same type. If a measuring point is located at the end of a signal connection, it will be deleted as well.
