Access Functions via Toolbars

> Toolbars

HiCAD offers the option to show the functions of the tabs as toolbars (similar to the toolbars in older HiCAD Versions < 2010). You can also define your own toolbars. .

Please note:

Apart from a few exceptions, the toolbars are deactivated by default. This enables you to start HiCAD much faster.

To you want to use the toolbars, you need to adjust the Windows Registry accordingly.

In the

HKEY_CURRENT_USER

tree, you will find the regsitry key

Software\ISD Software und Systeme\HiCAD 2022\ToolBars

The default value of the key is 0.

If you want to use the Toolbars, change the value for LoadToolBars from "0" (=default value) to “1”. With this setting, you can hide or show the toolbars in HiCAD via Settings > Toolbars. Please note however that this will slow down HiCAD start-up by approximately 20 seconds.

Please note:

By the above change of the registry the assignment between icons and IDs in the toolbars can be lost. This then leads in HiCAD to the fact that when clicking on a toolbar function, the function represented by the icon is not activated. To avoid this, after changing the registry you must first call the HiCADGUIReset.exe tool in the HiCAD EXE directory and reset the button IDs there. Then restart HiCAD.

To use the HiCAD toolbars, the Windows Registry must be modified accordingly.
