Sheet Metal Interfaces

To access the Sheet Metal interface functions, activate the Sheet Metal tab and select Sheet development > DXF section contours > ....

DXF

Use the DXF Interface functions for Sheet Metal to save the 2-D blank as DXF files, in order to forward the drawing to your production in a compatible file format.

Only the section contours are saved here, i.e. the marked bending zones and angles will not be taken into account.

  • Identify an edge of the contour.
  • Specify the path and the file name, then confirm with OK. The section contour will be saved as a DXF file to the specified folder.

The entire blank with marked bending zones and angles will be saved.

  • Identify an edge of the contour.
  • Enter the path and the file name, then confirm with OK. The section contour will be saved as a DXF file to the specified folder.
All sheets

Use this function to export all sheets in the drawing.

If the drawing contains are any sheets without item number, a dialogue will be displayed, asking you whether you want to continue. If you select Yes, only itemised sheets will be considered for export. If you select No, the action will be cancelled.

WiCAM Sheet Metal/Assembly

Use the WiCAM Interface to convert HiCAD drawings to a WiCAM compatible format. A text file will be created containing the coordinates of the construction so that the construction can be restored in the WiCAM software.

This file will be saved to the HiCAD SYS-directory. The file name is composed as follows:

FileNameofDrawing_2_WICAM.txt

Here the data of an individual sheet will be saved as text file.

The entire construction will be saved as text file.

WICAM 2-D Data

Use the WiCAM 2-D Data function to output the blank as a 2-D geometry via the WiCAM interface.

  1. Identify the blank from the outside and near the start point. The Data Transfer to WICAM PN 4000 window is displayed.
  2. Specify the sheet thickness.

When installing, PN4000 creates a directory tree that reflects the archive structure. The file types need to be saved to the appropriate sub-directories. The following three files will be created:

If you selected Archive, the files will directly be output to the WiCAD-specific folders.

If Archive has been deactivated, you can select, after closing the mask OK, a folder of your choice.

Here, too, three files will be created:

Output ToPS-GEO 2-D Data

The ToPs Geo Interface enables a direct export of sheet developents from HiCAD into the ToPs Geo file format.-The Geo data can directly be loaded into the individual modules (laser etc.) of the ToPS family.

By default, the article number will be suggested as file name in the output dialogue.
