Modify Symbol (P+ID)

The pull-down menu

of the Edit function in the Symbol function group contains the following functions for the modification of symbols:

Function	Description
	Edit several symbols	Use this function to simultaneously change data mask contents for several symbols of a P+ID project at once.
	Edit data mask	Use this function to edit the symbol data mask in the P+ID project.
	Take over, as library symbol	Use this function to load a P+ID symbol from the P+ID sheet into the Symbol Editor for processing.
	Save, as library symbol	Use this function to save symbols as library symbols.
	Position dialogue text	Use this function to position dialogue texts in the P+ID project.
	Exchange Individual In rectangle Sheet	Use this function to replace symbols by copying a selected reference symbol.
	Assign gauge symbol	Assigns a gauge symbol to a symbol of the type General type or Pipe part.
	Assign drive symbol	Assigns a drive symbol to a symbol of the type General type or Pipe part.
	Add connecting point	Invoke this option to insert a connecting point in a symbol that has at least one free connection dialogue, i.e. in this case, "free" means that a connecting point to which a connection dialogue has been assigned does not yet exist. First select the symbol to be changed. Determine one of the four possible connection directions. Use the cross-hairs to position the connecting point. Finally, set the connection notation close to the connecting point.
	Move connecting point	Use the cross-hairs to select the connecting point to be moved, whereby the symbol to which the point belongs is also selected. Specify the new position of the connecting point. Connections on the moved connections are retained. If the connections are askew after the moving, you are able to decide whether you want to temporarily retain or delete them.
	Rotate connecting point	Select the appropriate connecting point with the cross-hairs. You can now specify the new orientation for the connection in the dialogue box that appears on your screen.
	Delete connecting point	Select the appropriate connecting point with the cross-hairs. HiCAD deletes associated text from the drawing.
	Part information	If a part has been assigned to a symbol in the P+ID, you can use this function to display the part attributes.
	HELiOS part master data	If a part has been assigned to a symbol in the P+ID, you can use this function to display or process the part master data, links, workflow etc.
	Transfer dialogue text parameters	Use the functions of this menu to change the text parameters of dialogue texts.
	Gauge symbol	Use these functions to change the width or the representation of a gauge symbol.
