Attach Hinge (3-D SM)

There are two functions for adding hinges:

Attach hinge

Sheet Metal > Attach > Hinge

You use this function to add a hinge over the entire length of a sheet.

  1. Enter the inner diameter and click OK to close the window

The standard for semi-finished products can be taken from the Catalogue Editor. To do this, activate the corresponding checkbox . The selection of a semi-finished product does not only affect the sheet thickness, but also the bend radius, the allowance method and the article number. If the semi-finished product checkbox has been activated, sheet thickness and article number cannot be modified. You can, however, change the bend radius and the allowance method.

  1. Then, identify the connecting edge.

Sheet Metal > Attach > Hinge > Attach hinge, between 2 points

You use this function to determine the width of the hinge with the point options. Additionally, you can insert a relief groove.

  1. First, enter the dimensions for the relief groove and the inner diameter.

The standard for semi-finished products can be taken from the Catalogue Editor. To do this, activate the corresponding checkbox . If the semi-finished product checkbox has been activated, sheet thickness and article number cannot be modified. You can, however, change the bend radius and the allowance method.

  1. Click OK to close the dialogue window.
  2. Identify the connecting edge, followed by the two points for the width of the flange.

The following example does not have a relief groove, as the value of the entered dimensions is 0.

You can use the right mouse button to change the Technology data before identifying the connecting edge. Of the technology data, the fitting mode is taken into account.
