Sheet Metal Settings in the Configuration Editor (3-D SM)

HiCAD enables a central configuration management by means of the Configuration Editor tool. Here, user and company-specific settings can be defined for various HiCAD modules.

For Sheet Metal parts the following setting is relevant:

Taking over of semi-finished product attributes to manually created article master

In the Configuration Editor you can specify the semi-finished product attributes that you wish to take over into the a manually created article master. It is important that you created the article master yourself (manually) using the Create new article master + assign function instead of applying a semi-finished product article master through the selection of a semi-finished product during base sheet creation.

Also, each catalogue table column to be taken over needs to be linked to a HELiOS attribute. The table will then be transferred to HELiOS.

Example:

  1. Start the Catalogue Editor by double-clicking the CATEDITOR.EXE file in the EXE directory of your HiCAD installation.
  2. Open the ISD sheet table in the Factory standards > Sheets catalogue. Right-click the BZ column and choose Column properties.
  3. Activate the HELiOS checkbox, select an attribute, e.g. BENENNUNG (DESIGNATION) and close the dialogue with OK.
  4. Proceed likewise with the MATERIAL column. Here, enter the semi-finished product attribute BENENNUNG2 (DESIGNATION2).

  1. Save the table .
  2. Now, right-click the ISD sheet table and choose Transfer to HELiOS > ....

  1. Close the Catalogue Editor and start the Configuration Editor (ISDConfigEditor.exe) from the EXE directory of your HiCAD installation.
  2. At System settings > HELiOS > Taking over of semi-finished product attributes, click the ... button and enter the attribute assignment, making the semi-finished product attribute from the Catalogue Editor an article attribute:

BENENNUNG;BEMERKUNG (DESIGNATION;COMMENT)

BENENNUNG2;NORMBEZEICHNUNG (DESIGNATION2;STANDARD DESIGNATION)

  1. Close the Configuration Editor and start HiCAD.
  2. Draw a base sheet without semi-finished product.
  3. In the ICN, right-click the Sheet metal main part and select HELiOS > Create new article master + assign to manually assign an article master to the base sheet.

  1. Now double-click the Base sheet feature in the ICN and select a semi-finished product from the table ISD sheet aus.

The article master now has 2 new entries. The semi-finished product attribute BENENNUNG2 (DESIGNATION2) has been assigned to Standard, and BENENNUNG (DESIGNATION) has been assigned to Comment. steht BENENNUNG (DESIGNATION). If you change the semi-finished product later, Standard and Comment will be adjusted accordingly.
