Bend Zone (3-D SM)

Sheet Metal > Bend zone

The Bend zone function group on the Sheet Metal tab provides functions for the processing of bend zones.

Right-click a sheet to activate a context menu containing the bend zone functions. You will then no longer be prompted to make an identification.

Bend zone
	New, with shortening of connecting sheet
Pull-down menu Shorten
	New, between 2 points, with shortening of connecting sheet
	New, with incision on connecting sheet

There are 3 different types of bend zones in HiCAD:

• Old Sheet Metal parts with segmented surface bend zones
• Old Sheet Metal parts with segmented, cylindrical bend zones
• New Sheet Metal parts with cylindrical bend zones

When attaching a new flange to a sheet metal part, HiCAD will automatically recognize which bend zone type was used, and change the setting accordingly.

To change the default setting, Cylindric bend zones, without segmentation= 2, change the following entry in the system file SYS/ABWPAR.DAT:

Cylindric bend zones (with segmentation= 1, without segmentation = 2 )

Restart HiCAD to apply the change to new Sheet Metal parts.
