HiCAD Clipboard
To copy parts from one drawing to another, you can use the HiCAD clipboard - as well as other options.
Proceed as follows:
- Activate the
part or specify the part list that you want to copy from the current
drawing to another drawing.
- Press the right
mouse button to activate the context menu.
- Choose the Copy to clipboard function. You can now paste the current content of the HiCAD clipboard to other
drawings.
- Open
the target drawing. If the file has already been opened, click the relevant
preview image in the Switch drawing tab.
- In the ICN of
the target drawing, choose the part to which you want to assign the content
of the HiCAD clipboard as a sub-part. If you want the content of
the HiCAD clipboard to be inserted into the drawing as a main part, select
the entry with the drawing name in the ICN.
- Use the right
mouse button to activate the context menu.
- Choose the Paste from clipboard function.
- The copied parts
are shown, and HiCAD asks you to specify a fitting point for this copy. This is the point that is used to position the copy in the target
drawing.
- Once
you have specified the fitting point, the target drawing is shown again,
and HiCAD asks you to define the position of the fitting point in the
drawing.
After pasting a part from the HiCAD clipboard the function remains active, i.e. you can paste the part several times to different locations in your drawing. To end the function, press the middle mouse button.
