Plant Engineering > Part Tools > Exchange > Flange connection, bolted - Part
Use this function to insert bolted flange connections on all flange connecting points of parts with a counterflange.
Select the desired part with the cursor.
First, the dialogue with general Settings for bolted connections will be displayed (if it has not been deactivated with the Suppress window checkbox). Here, especially the options for Level of detail and Geometry are of interest. In the Grip length area, you should always choose the Calculate option. The specified Fitting mode is not relevant here.
Specify the desired settings and confirm with OK. The subsequent behaviour of the function depends on whether or not a matching flange connection already exists as a KRA file.
A matching bolted flange connection does not exists as a KRA file yet
The message No matching entry in database for selected Project/Folder! indicates that no matching bolted flange connection has been saved yet.
If you have not selected a set of bolting components for the hole diameter given by the flange yet, an appropriate message will appear, e.g.:
Now, specify the desired set of bolting components.
You also need to select a matching bolt diameter (here: M16), as it will not be automatically determined!
The dialogue window is operated ion the same way as the one for 3-D Boltings .
If you require a bolting for the same hole diameter again, the last created set will be offered for selection when you open the window again.
Click OK to start the generation of the bolted flange connection.
A suitable bolted flange connection already exists as KRA file
and in the settings for bolted flange connections the e Checkbox Use saved bolted flange connections checkbox is active.
If only one suitable saved bolted flange connection exists, it will be inserted immediately. If there are several saved bolted flange connections, a result list will be displayed from which you can choose the desired connection.
Each bolted flange connection will be assigned to the flange (or blank flange) on which the bolt heads are located. A flange gasket connected to it will be assigned to the same part, even if it had been assigned to a different part beforehand. This assignment will cause the bolted flange connection and the flange gasket to be deleted when the part to which they belong is deleted. Only if the flanges being part of a bolted flange connection do not belong to the same pipeline, the previous assignment of the gasket will remain unchanged.
After insertion, the graphic cursor will be available again, enabling you to select a flange (or blank flange) for the next bolted flange connection.
Press the middle mouse button to end the function.
