3-D Dimensioning + Text > Angle
You use this function to create angular dimensionings.
Each of the sides of the angle to be dimensioned can be determined by identifying an edge or by specifying the start and end point. To determine the dimension line length, further point specification is required.
Angular dimensions Dimensions the angle between two edges (legs). Identify the two legs of the angle and then define the position of the dimension line. If you want to dimension an arc, it will suffice to identify the arc and then the position of the dimension line. Please note however that no snap point must be active when identifying the arc! |

Chain dimensions Creates chain dimensions, i.e. a group of angle dimensions in which each pair of consecutive angular dimensions has a common side. |
Parallel dimensions Creates parallel dimensions, i.e. a group of angular dimensions in which all sub-dimensions have the same start side and the dimension lines of the individual sub-dimensions have a fixed distance from one another. |

Running dimensions Creates running dimensions, i.e. a group of angular dimensions in which all sub- dimensions refer to the same start side. The dimension figures are automatically placed at the end of each dimension unit, perpendicular to the dimension line. |
X-axis Dimensions the angle between an edge and the x-axis. |
Y-axis Dimensions the angle between an edge and the y-axis. |
Z-axis Dimensions the angle between an edge and the z-axis. |
Select axis Dimensions the angle between an edge and an arbitrary axis. |
Left: Angular dimensions (chain), Right: Angular dimensions, leg - y-axis
Chamfer dimensions for chamfered bores or cylinders can also be created via angular dimensionings. In the example below, the Angular dimensions ... - Z-Axis function was used for this purpose.
If the base points of an angular dimension determined by the identified legs are not parallel to the current screen plane, HiCAD will display the following error message:
If this message is displayed, check the dimension figure
