Folder for Externally Referenced Parts (3-D)

Referenced parts are saved with the file name extension .KRA, and only in the directory predefined for referenced parts. The ISD-side default setting for this directory is the HiCAD subdirectory REFTEILE1, to which the short description L: is assigned in the system file FILEGRUP.DAT. This setting can be changed both temporarily and permanently.

Permanently change folder

To change the folder default setting for externally referenced parts, proceed as follows:

  1. Click the icon on the Ribbon.
  2. Select the Settings function.
  3. Select the Basic settings > General > Referenced parts folder.
  4. Define the folder for referenced parts using parameter Default file group for referenced parts (prototypes).
  5. After double-clicking the Value field, select one of the HiCAD folders in the list box. File group L has been set as the default by ISD; this is the HiCAD subdirectory REFTEILE1.
