Installation of the HELiOS/ AutoCAD Interface

The HELiOS/ AutoCAD interface is created via the HELiOS installation DVD. It can be installed together with the HELiOS Desktop, or separately at a later time.

In the Ready to install HELiOS ... dialogue of the HELiOS Installation Wizard, select Extended Settings > HELiOS Interfaces, and select the systems to which you want to create an interface.

Please note:

• The installation automatically executes a .csv file (MultiCAD.csv), which provides templates for the operation of the CAD interface. If you are using your own .csv file, you can also execute this file subsequently. To do this, start the HeliosClientConfig.exe tool from the \exe\ directory of your HELiOS installation. Click the ... button to select the path of the file and confirm with OK.

After installing the AutoCAD interface from the HELiOS DVD, the Add-In needs to be activated in AutoCAD as well.

For AutoCAD 2013 (and following versions) select Tools > Load Application.... In the displayed dialogue window, select and add the HELiOS Add-In heliosac2014.arx.

To have the Add-In automatically loaded upon each AutoCAD start, click the Contents… button to include it in the start group.

After the loading of the Add-Ins in AutoCAD and the successful login in HELiOS, the window for the configuration of the local session will be displayed.

• The creation of the interface requires a compatible version of AutoCAD on your computer (the Bit versions of AutoCAD and HELiOS need to be identical!).
• The installation works only for the AutoCAD Versions 2012 and 2014. If you want to create an interface between HELiOS and an older AutoCAD Version, please contact our Consulting team.
• In the \templates\ directory of your HiCAD installation you will find drawing frame templates. If required, copy them to the appropriate AutoCAD directory.
